- AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli became the second and third player to register three hundreds in IPL. Only Chris Gayle has more centuries in IPL (five).
- This is only the second time two hundreds have been scored in the same innings of a T20 match. The only other occasion was when Hamish Marshall(102) and Kevin O'Brien (119) scored hundreds for Gloucestershire against Middlesex in Uxbridge in 2011.
- AB de Villiers took just 43 balls to reach his century - the fifth fastest IPL hundred of all time.
- Kohli became the first batsman to score three hundreds in a single edition of IPL. Chris Gayle (two in 2011) is the only other batsman to score more than one in a season.
- Kohli and de Villiers have now put together 779 runs in this IPL in nine innings together. It is the most by any pair in IPL, eclipsing 622 by David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan in 2015.
- The pair has now stitched together four hundred-plus stands in IPL 2016. No other pair has put together more than three century partnerships in a single season of IPL.
- The six stands of fifty or more by Kohli and de Villiers is the joint-most by a pair for a season in IPL. Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Dravid (in 2011) as well as Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina (in 2013) also had six stands each.
- The partnership of 229 between Kohli and de Villiers is the highest stand for any wicket in 20-overs cricket. The previous highest was an unbeaten 215 by the same pair against Mumbai Indians last season.
- This is the sixth partnership of 200 or more in 20-overs cricket and Kohli has now been involved in three of them. No other pair apart from Kohli and de Villiers has more than one stand of 200 or more.
- Kohli and de Villiers have now been involved in six century partnerships in 46 innings in IPL, joint-most by a pair along with Gayle and Kohli who also have six in 49 innings together.
- AB de Villiers (when on 21) became the third overseas player to hit 3000 runs in IPL after Chris Gayle and David Warner.
- Kohli has now been involved in 13 hundred-plus stands - the most by anyone in IPL. He overtakes Gayle's record of 12.
- Kohli now has scored 677 runs this IPL in 11 innings - the most by an Indian player in a season in IPL. The record was previously held by Robin Uthappa, who scored 660 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 edition in 16 innings.
- Kohli's 677 runs this season is the most by a skipper in a season in IPL. He breaks his own record of 634 runs in 2013. Sachin Tendulkar is the only other player to score more than 600 runs as captain in a season (618 runs in 2010).
- 12 sixes hit by de Villiers is the joint-fifth in an IPL innings. Gayle's 17 against Pune Warriors India in 2013 is the highest.
- 248 for 3 is the second-highest total in IPL history after 263 for 5 by Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India in 2013 at the same venue.
- 112 runs scored between overs 15 and 20 is the most scored in the last five overs of an IPL match. The previous record was 88 by the same pair against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium last year.
- 20 sixes is the second-most in an IPL innings. Royal Challengers Bangalore hit 21 sixes against Pune Warriors India at the same venue on 21-Apr-2013.
- 172 runs were scored since the start of 11th over. It is the most in the last ten overs of a match in IPL, surpassing 162 by Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in Sharjah in 2014.
- Chris Gayle has now been dismissed for single figure scores in his last eight innings in T20s. Never before he had more than three consecutive single figure scores in 20-over cricket.
- 4 for 11 by Chris Jordan is the second-best figures for an Englishman in IPL, after Dimitri Mascarenhas's 5 for 25 for Kings XI Punjab against Pune Warriors in 2012.
- The winning margin of 144 is the highest in an IPL match. The previous best was 140 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural IPL match in 2008. It is the fifth highest in any T20 match and highest in a game in India.
