"Every single person is a soldier at the moment. If you stay indoors, you are fighting the battle for your own country. There has to be a collective effort else we can't win this," said India's Test batting mainstay.

"The Prime Minister wanted us to pass on the fighting spirit of a sportsperson to the general public. Sportspersons do inspire to fight," Pujara told PTI over phone from Rajkot, his hometown.

When asked how he himself was spending all this free time when there is actually no cricket happening anywhere in the country, Pujara replied that his 2-year-old daughter Aditi keeps him busy and engaged.

"My daughter is quite young so if I keep the camera on her she is really happy. Most of the times Puja, my wife, is around but with both of her parents around, she is happiest at the moment. She also enjoys playing and I make sure that she is looked after well. We try and do creative stuff with her. She is very young and energetic, she wants to play so we make sure to engage her in indoor games, sometimes she likes coloring and I try to help her with that. We have a small garden at our house and we play badminton with her - not proper badminton but she plays with a racquet and a shuttle," said Pujara.

"When the matches start again, I will be ready for it. At the moment, I am completely off cricket and not even watching the game at all. If I get time, I catch up on some movies and watch Netflix," he said.

Pujara's message for People during Lockdown:
"My message for everyone is that it is important to do some exercises, whether it is yoga or simply walking in your room. You don't need a bigger space to walk, and a little bit of exercise will always help. And remember; don't move out at all, except for getting hold of essentials."
