Suresh Raina feels that selectors should have taken more responsibility towards the senior players. Suresh Raina told in a interview that he was never informed why he was dropped from the national side despite passing Yo Yo Test and performing well in the chances he got.
In the recent live session, Suresh Raina said that the selectors should have taken more responsibility towards senior players. Every player works hard, play for the team and if they don’t get to play in the next match then the selector should come up with an appropriate reason that why they dropped that particular player from the side.
Raina also added that the selectors should tell if a player is lacking at any point. As per him, there should always be someone to tell the player where they need to work hard. Otherwise, how a batsman or a bowler can improve.
“I think selectors should have taken more responsibility towards the senior players. No matter how big a player you are at the end of the day you always play for the team, you perform, you go home and if you don’t get to play the next morning, then you have to know the reason why I am not getting the batting on the net.
Tell me if I have any deficiency then I will work hard. Someone will have to tell where to work hard. If he does not know, then there will be a doubt in his mind somewhere. When the cause is not known, how he will improve,” Raina told Vikrant Gupta, Senior Executive Editor of Aaj Tak.
Suresh Raina had knee surgery in August 2019 and is making good progress day-by-day. Raina hasn't played for India since July 2018, but the CSK batsman has not given up on his national ambitions.
